The IA²P Awards Programme is among the most prestigious global recognitions in AI — celebrating leaders who are shaping the responsible future of artificial intelligence across every sector and every corner of the world.
IA²P awards are not popularity contests or sponsored prizes. They are the considered judgement of a distinguished international panel — identifying individuals and organisations whose work genuinely advances AI in service of humanity.
Awards are presented across two tiers: Global Awards at the IA²P Annual Summit, and Regional Awards at each of the four Regional Conferences. Together they form a comprehensive picture of excellence across the globe.
Presented annually at the IA²P Global Summit, these awards recognise the highest levels of achievement in AI across the global community of professionals, institutions, and innovators.
The Association's most prestigious honour — presented to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary global vision and transformative impact in advancing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity.
Recognising pioneering work in developing, advocating, or implementing ethical AI frameworks that have meaningfully shaped the practice of responsible AI globally.
Celebrating a breakthrough AI technology, research contribution, or applied innovation that has advanced the field and demonstrated its capacity to benefit society.
Honouring outstanding contributions to the development of AI policy, regulation, or governance frameworks at national, regional, or international level.
Recognising a leader from a non-technology domain who has championed responsible AI adoption and shaped its trajectory within their sector — from healthcare to finance, education, law, or beyond.
Spotlighting an exceptional professional under 40 who has demonstrated outstanding promise and early-career impact in AI — the next generation of global AI leadership.
The rarest and most honoured of IA²P's awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award is presented — not annually, but only when a candidate of unequivocal distinction is identified — to an individual whose life's work has fundamentally and permanently shaped the course of artificial intelligence and its relationship with humanity.
Past recipients are among the most consequential minds in the history of AI. The award may not be presented in any year where no candidate meets the extraordinary threshold required.
Each of IA²P's four global regions presents its own awards programme at the Regional Annual Conference — recognising outstanding contributions within the region's unique context, challenges, and opportunities.
The Awards Secretariat opens nominations six months before the relevant ceremony. IA²P Fellows and Associate Fellows may nominate candidates, including self-nominations for the Emerging Leader category.
An independent Awards Panel — comprising five distinguished Fellows with no conflicts of interest — reviews all nominations against published criteria. The panel may request supporting materials.
Up to four finalists per category are announced three months before the ceremony. Finalists receive official notification and media coverage through IA²P's global communications channels.
Winners are announced at the relevant IA²P Summit or Regional Conference during the formal Awards Gala. Laureates receive a citation, engraved award, and profile in the IA²P Journal.
